About UsAn open letter: Time for a new beginning and a reintroduction ...
For over a decade we have organized and run the Orlando Avid Users Group. Our mission has always been to address the needs of editors. To educate and illuminate, not to sell or promote products. As our market has evolved, so has our group. We want to make sure that our meetings are inclusive of the many topics and needs that concern editors today, regardless of any one system or piece of software. With that in mind, we have decided to change the name of the group and the website to reflect this.
We are now the Orlando Post Pros, a professional organization open to all production and post-production professionals. So, whether you use Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro or any other system, we hope you will feel welcome and join us at our meetings.
Our target is to hold approximately one meeting a quarter. You will be notified through individual e-mail meeting notices. In addition, our website will also present information about upcoming meetings and maintain a listing of local freelance editors. Please let us know if you want to be removed or added to the mailing list. Feel free to pass along this information. Please note that we're not dropping our interest or involvement with Avid, but merely reaching out to the many other users in our diverse market. You can continue to access the same website through the existing address ( orlandoavidusers.org ). In addition, we have added a second address ( orlandoedits.com ). Both will take you to the same site and what we hope will be valuable information.
Good luck and plenty more to come!
Your steering committee,
Mike Konstan Grace Machado Oliver Peters
